Are larger vehicles more difficult for beginning drivers to drive?

Friday, August 7th, 2009

My husband has found a full-sized chevy bronco that he wants to buy for our son for his first vehicle. I like the safety aspect, but I feel that a teen driving a huge vehicle is more likely to have an accident due to inexperience. I personally have always found huge vehicles intimidating and more difficult to judge distances but my husband disagrees and does not see any difference. Anyone have any information on the subject?

How do you decide when to quit spending more money to keep your used car running?

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Currentley, I have spent 1,000.00 American to keep a 3,500.00 used car running. I could sell it for three thousand and five or spend another 800.00. If I spend the eight, the mechanic assures me it will be fine. Until the next time it developes another problem. I know this is difficult to answer without all the specs but I am just looking for a general answer. I would be grateful for any help I get. I have an ‘88 Bronco with a rebuilt engine. I can afford to but another used car for 5,000. but I wonder if it will be any better. Also, I don’t know to much about cars, how to select a good used, that is. The mechanics assure me the bills are high because it is a V-8 with 4-wheel drive and worth the money. What with gas prices and all, I am beginning to wonder if I should just get something else. Please Help. I appreciate your answers.

7.3L Diesel in a 1990 Bronco?

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

I have a full size 1990 bronco in great shape. I also have a low milage International 7.3L diesel engine and transmission in my shop. I was wondering if anyone has done a gas to diesel conversion in a Bronco lately. I am no stranger to conversions as I have done a few V6s to V8s in the last 20 years. I know what I’am up against, but is it worth the effort to make a Bronco diesel powered??

Is there any way to get around having to have insurance to register my truck?

Friday, June 5th, 2009

I live in California.
I have a 1987 Bronco that has expired tags on it that I want to sell. I would like to get the tags current before I sell it, but it seems in order to register it I must have insurance on the vehicle. It just seems like a waste of money to insure something I’m just going to sell right away.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

How do I adjust the idle on a ford 302 engine?

Friday, June 5th, 2009

The motor’s in a 1989 Bronco. It’s running really fast right now, and I need to know how to turn down the idle. I don’t have a tach, but I’d say it’s idling at about 2000 rpm. I can put it in drive, coast, and it’ll upshift to 2nd, and cruise at about 25-30 mph.
